Armory Tot Lot

During the 1940’s the National Guard Armory Building was built on this site and a portion of the building was used to operate recreational leagues. The building was destroyed by fire soon thereafter and never re-built. The City developed the site into a children’s playground in the early 1950s and has been maintaining it as such up to the present time.

The Armory Tot Lot in the City of Alexandria is a favorite.  It’s perfect for the 0-4 age group.  Also great for those with multiple children.  It’s small, sandbox, bucket swings and climbing structure.  Best part is that it’s fenced in, so no losing kiddos or chasing two in different directions. -By: Candi

Playground is enclosed. Partially shaded depending on time of day. Parking is on-street. No restrooms. Lots of ride-on toys appear to have been donated by the community. My little digger loved the sandbox and the excavation toys.
