- Old Town Alexandria History Tour (self guided)
- Contrabands & Freedmen Cemetery Memorial
- Ft Ward Park
- Colvin Run Mill Park
Parks that can be a whole day trip:
- Accotink
- Burke Lake
- Chessie’s Big Back Yard
- Clemyjontri
- Leesylvania
- Riverbend Park (like the nature centers above, this one has outdoor exhibits)
- Manassas Battlefield Park
Enchanting places to visit with littles, or if you want a great family photo opportunity:
- Nall’s Produce (look for news of their pumpkin tunnel)
- River Farm Park Children’s garden
- Green Spring Gardens
- Oronoco Bay Park
- Jones Point Park (in particular, look for the animal footprints and visit the light house!)
